| Cold, snowy but scenic traverse from Thorodin to Starr. So cold today, even at this relatively low elevation, that we couldn't stop long even to eat! Very scenic area, however, great to get back this way, it had been a while! | ||

| After summiting Thorodin, we proceed toward Star Peak, no trail or we couldn't find one cause of snow on the ground. Nice little hike in Denver's backyard, Sheepshead was interesting rock formation. Overall, very nice day. | ||

| Hiked all three peaks from Gap Road in Golden Gate Canyon State Park with my girlfriend Meghan. Due to the presence of a trail drawn from Pinecliffe to Starr Peak on many maps, Meghan and I had snowshoed to the summit of Starr Peak from Pinecliffe two weeks earlier. However, that route involved crossing much private property (and we never really did see the presence of a trail, excluding a 0.5 mile section of jeep trail along Boiling Gulch that went right next to several private residences). The approach from Gap Road was not only better in terms of legality but also shorter, had less elevation gain, and more easily allowed Thorodin Mountain to be added to the adventure. The views from the summits of Starr Peak and Sheepshead were excellent. Not only were the snow-capped peaks of the Front Range enjoyable to see, but I really enjoyed getting a unique "backside" view of the entire Boulder range. | ||
