| Long hike via Hendrys Creek Trail, then across the ridge to the summit rock shelter for an overnight camp. New moon, crystal clear skies, 12000 elevation, it all meant the clearest stars and Milky Way I have ever seen. A long-time dream come true. | |

| Just climbed, using Eric Willhite's excellent directions. Hike is great, but starting from Big Canyon T/H, means nearly 2 hours 4WD each way from valley floor- in other words, a titch more time 4WD than walking. A nice alternative would be to camp at the T/H, take the signed trail up onto the Table, explore there before summitting and returning to the T/H via the saddle, as Willhite describes. BTW, as you drive up out of the valley, first nice campsites are around mile 7.0. (And yes, you really do need 4WD low) | |

| Camped on the plateau, my friends were exhausted from the hike to that point so I didn't want to continue to the summit on my own from the north ridge. | |

| On Sep 27, I had closed to within a thousand (linear) feet of the summit when a thunderstorm chased me to safer ground. I returned three weeks later with some friends, Bob B, Duane G and Ken J to finish the job. A great hike on a great day (although windy & cold) with great companions. | |
