I enjoyed reading about the other routes. The Grouse Creek route intrigues me, I might check it out some day. The Overview section is well written! Nice page for a mountain that is surprisingly interesting and majestic.
I'm amazed that this page can have over 2600 hits and only a few people have taken the time to rate it. This is nice work and worthy of 4 stars easily plus it happens to be one of the Colorado Peaks I hope to visit in a couple of years.
I recently adopted this page two months ago, from Randy (your climbing buddy). Mount Princeton is an excellent hike and the views of Antero are staggering. I suggest the short side trip up "Tigger Peak" which offers the best view of the Arkansas Valley in the Sawatch Range (IMO). Thanks for coming by and voting.
Another nice page Grant, lots of info to be had for the aspiring climber. The photo that has the route description is right on and should be highlighted if possible. As I found out, it is a big mistake to head to the base of the mountain and then head up the trail to the ridge. There is terrible scree there and further use will only continue to erode that route.
Isn't it funny how Roach’s book does and excellent job on describing where one needs to leave the trail, and numerous people end up doing it the harder way. The day I did it everyone did it the harder way. I felt an image depicting the easy way needed to be posted. Good advice, I will try and highlight this image better.
Thanks Brad, This is just another walk in the park, in fourteener standards. Typical Swatch Fourteener, and very enjoyable. I suggest doing "Tigger" also. I thought "Tigger" had much better views, but that’s my opinion.
