Voted 10/10 | I've had the pleasure of communicating semi-regularly with the keeper of this page. He is the devoted type who will keep it updated as needed and I would expect nothing less than a very well done page for this outstanding mountain. Good job Kane!

Hasn't voted | Thanks for the nice comments. I really had to spend a lot of time and effort fixing up this page after the last maintainer. It was pitiful. : )

Hasn't voted | Mathias, Thanks for your vote. I checked the HTML in the overview and couldn't find any problems. However, I did find a bad link in the Red Tape section. Thanks. Alan

Voted 10/10 | Very nice Alan, I like the way you give credit where credit is due. Shit, when I did it, I wish I would of read Downey's east ridge route, since I didn't have a 4wd.

Hasn't voted | Thanks for the vote. I almost did the east ridge route, but opted instead for the standard route. The road is definitely the crux of a South Colony trip.

Hasn't voted | Thanks for looking that info on how Humboldt got it's name. My book is packed away (like everything else). I put it on the main page. Hey, is that you rock climbing on your profile page? I didn't know you rock climbed. Where was that taken and what was the route?

Voted 10/10 | Hey Alan, No problem, there was quite a bit of info on the history of Humboldt, at least more than some of the other fourteeners in the state. Yes, I enrolled in a class that teaches Basic Mountaineering skills and rock climbing is part of the curriculum. Jim (colonelpyat) took the image and I really don't know if the route in the image has a name. A friend told me about it. It's a fifty foot top rope and is around 5.4ish. I’ve been going out the past month and climbing around Clear Creek Canyon, no sport routes yet, just top ropes. Did my first crack last weekend and was a 5.6. After two times up that my forearms were through for the day. I really like it.

Voted 10/10 | Another excellent page setting the standard for SummitPost. Ice storm and lightning was my experience on this summit, but I still made it.

Voted 10/10 | We actually did get a late start. Not because we were sleeping. We drove non-stop from Texas overnight, drove up the South Colony Lakes road, hiked up and set up camp, then went on and climbed it with no sleep. Then the sideways flying ice storm. No views from the summit but on the way down when the storm let up we got some great views of the Crestones. Thus, the picture on the front page under I think Mountain Conditions.
