Voted 10/10 | A message was posted in the CO message forum that the road to the Half Moon camp ground is off limits to cars and hikers from May 1st through June 20th because of Elk calving. If that's true, we should add a comment about that on the mountain page. I bought a plane ticket for the purpose of climbing the Cross Couloir in May and now it appears I'll have to change my plans! Thanks...! | |

Hasn't voted | Hmm-Yeah, I went to the thread, read the comments and changed the page. Frankly, with all the snow, I doubt you would have made it up the road anyway, and May is a big snow month for the area as well. I've amended the page in the Getting There and When to Climb sections. Bummer about your plane ticket! But you know what? There's plenty of great climbs for you to try all over Colorado. I'd give you ideas, but there's so many to choose from, and you'll get plenty of suggestions from your fellow SPers. So it's not a lost cause and you'll have a great time wherever you end up.
