Josh,

The Topozone map seems to read 7115'. Sometimes I find it difficult to read the elevation numbers on USGS maps, so maybe the 1 looks like a 4??? Anyway, Beckey agrees with the 7,106'. :-)

I contacted the USGS to confirm the elevation of Ruth as there are two referenced heights. They are looking in to it, but I have not yet received a response with an answer. I'll post it when I do.

The USGS confirmed the elevation of Ruth Mountain is 7,115'. Here was there response:

'Dear Mr. Hanssen,

forwarded to our office for reply.

We have reviewed your comments and concur. Therefore, we have changed the

elevation for the summit named Ruth Mountain in Whatcom County, Washington,

from 7406 feet to 7115 feet in the Geographic Names Information System

(GNIS). This change should be evident at the web site by tomorrow.

We are grateful that you took the time and effort to notify us and help us

make the GNIS database a better and more accurate data source.
