Great stuff,

Probably the first mountain ever to be mentioned in a book.

Great page, photos, and tips on the guides / tour services. Don't know when I'll get to visit Egypt with the way world events are going....
Moses left his people for a full month in order to climb this mountain from the the Red Sea
I've read that the "Red Sea" is a common misnomer / mistake in early translations and one possibly more correct translation of the original was that Moses and the Jews crossed the "sea of reeds" meaning a shallow swamp. Of course the Red Sea sounds better and makes for better movie special effects scenes :-)

Great work!

One question: Do you know anything about rock climbing in the area? Is the rock any good? It looks like it's probably very loose and dirty, but sometimes looks can be deceiving.

The rock ist just perfect! We did some very easy climbing. Granite like rock. Very solid. Warm, but nice breeze.

What you mean by summit log in this context?

I mean what SP understand for summit log: is just a place for telling stories and letting the world know you climbed Gebel Musa (in this case). Something like what Rahel writed in the SUMMIT LOG section but longer please. I've realized that you have wrote some lines in the OVERVIEW section but could you extend a little? On the other hand I'm not too interested in your summit log, if you don't want don't add it, but it would leastwise give you one more point to your power. Thank you, regards.

I told a lot of personal stuff - may be too much - in Gebel Katharina. I am not sure that everybody likes that.

Hi Alpenkalb,

good that you added this page. I would like to give you 3,5 stars because you have not yet given any answer to the fourth question: "Does the page point you to other useful resources on the web or in print?" Please add some information concerning these points.

Regards, Rahel
