In the US, routes are generally rated on the Yosemite Decimal System. They go up to class 5, and things beyond that get decimal ratings like 5.8, 5,9, etc, up to about 5.14 (and even some letter designations like 5.14c), but there is no class 6 that I know of. Sort of like having an "11" setting on the stereo's volume control knob. :)



(Actually the link above refers to class 6 as aid climbing, but that isn't really part of the YDS, and has it's own set of ratings.)

The latitude shown on the page is wrong. It should be 38 48N. Obvious since 38 84 can't exist.
