Many thanks.

There's much more to add yet. Maybe do it this winter when there should be more time.

Best wishes,

Tony Simpkins

Mi ha sempre affascinato... Temo che sia fuori della mia portata anche il solo arrivarci vicino :-(

Bella pagina ed entusiasmanti pareti già solo a vederle (anche per la loro storia aplinistica); immagino a salirla !

Being no expert on the Dolomites (would like to become one though) I have to confess that I haven´t heard about this unbelievable piece of mountain arcitecture. Your page is very enlightening.

Hmmmm, good you put up that comparison picture.

Two years ago after returning from Madonna di Campiglio I searched the web for Campanile Basso and somehow ended up on SP. Searched for Mont Blanc, Grandes Jorasses, La Grivola and was hooked....

Since then I have not looked at the page again - I knew that Tony had given it to you but I somehow forgot to look. You did a great job and it is evident that this is one of your favourite spots.

I have never been near the Campanile - weather prevented it - but all the time in that summer 2003 I longed to at least sneak a peak. I was lucky from Croz d'Altissimo but it was still too far away. Then hiked SOSAT but befor reaching Rif. Brentei a thunderstom swept over us so that we had to get back down again.

I guess I'll have to return someday....

I think You MUST return there someday and, at least, make the Bocchette Centrali, the best way to understand why I (and many more people) love that area :))
