Excellent work and stunning photos. My thanks also to Fred, SP's Glacier rep for helping Morgan in whatever capacity he did. I'm sure it was first rate! Nice job, Morgan.

Thanks! But you had better thank "Fred" for that, since he gave me the info and seems to know the area better.

Cheers,

Thanks. Yeah, it's a good climb. Some nice steep rock. Personally I liked the view from Matahpi Peak a little better.

I noticed from your profile that you live in Sun Valley, ID. That's great! Having just moved to Houston, I would kill for a "backyard" mountain of any kind...

Well, you may not have the rockies but there is some good hiking (I've heard) in Guadaloupe NP.

One question about the standard route on GTTS mountain, how much vertical is it and whats the length?

Standard route: you're looking at about 4000 feet of vertical and maybe 8-10 miles round trip. You should do Matahpi while you're up there--that only adds 1000 feet of vertical.

I climbed GTTS as a young man in 1976. I was working for Roscoe Black at St Marys at the time. I plan to climb it again Next year with my 20 year old son. I am really looking forward to that!
