The rest of the area (including the summit) is part of the White Mountain National Forest. The summit also marks the western boundary of the Pemigewasset Wilderness, an area within the WMNF where some additional restrictions on camping, etc apply.
The usual WMNF parking fee is $3/day (less for advance multi-day passes), but the Lafayette Campground trailhead is within the state park, and though I'm not certain, I don't recall paying a fee. |
