Hasn't voted | I seriously doubt that this peak will see much increase in traffic, it's way out of the way, but you never know. Good work on your panoramas, I really appreciated the one from the top of Tohakum. Unfortunately, when I was up there yeserday, there were low clouds in all quadrants, and I didn't see much. It looked to me like the 3rd class along the ridge to Tohakum might be bypassed as 2nd class on the east if one were so inclined (I'm not sure why anyone would want to), so I'd suggest clarifying that route as contrived 3rd class. It might also be helpful to mention something about descent options, too--I climbed Pyramid's East Ridge first, traversed to Tohakum, and then dropped down the drainage between them. I encountered some truly awful bushwhacking in places on the return. BTW, do you have any recommendations for other Reno area peaks with good 3rd/4th class possibilities? Thanks. | |

Hasn't voted | Matthew: Thanks for the vote. Contrived 3rd it is. As far as Reno area peaks, the Limbos have good 3rd, and King Lear Peak (not really that close to Reno) is a fun scramble, and can be as difficult as you want to make it. | |
