Voted 10/10 | Well written. I've never seen the mountain in the summer. Only 1 foot lower is Mount Abercrombie, which looks like it has a fun snow climb via the east face in winter. I'm convinced there is some good technical rock on some of those peaks up there. Perhaps the Ridge of Gypsy you mention. Also, the north face of Hooknose Mountain looks promising. Nice photos. | |

Voted 10/10 | Nice job on this, Paul. Dean and I were up there the very next weekend after you. He had done the HPs of Ferry and Stevens counties the day before (Copper Butte and Abercrombie Mountain). I had already done those last year. Abercrombie is one foot lower, but has much more topographic prominence than Gypsy, being one of Washington's 5,000-foot+ prominence peaks. Here's a discussion on prominence. | |
