He had done the HPs of Ferry and Stevens counties the day before (Copper Butte and Abercrombie Mountain). I had already done those last year. Abercrombie is one foot lower, but has much more topographic prominence than Gypsy, being one of Washington's 5,000-foot+ prominence peaks. Here's a discussion on prominence. |
