I'll give it four stars in advance. The links to established beta and anticipated pix from SP regulars elevate this effort. Nice to see more peaks from the Sawtooth Range represented.

Interesting peak I would never have heard of otherwise. Intriguing name--& appropriate. Thx for sharing.

That should be a priority, I'm sure it will be a good video, after all, most of the footage is of me...

Fabulous and fun "peak!" Great page, well written and superb photos. Quite the thing, this doodad! I like the SP police section, too. The Doodad seems to be sitting precariously. I hope it doesn't fall off like the "old man of the mountain"-you'd have to make some serious changes to the page! Thanks for this great addition.

No kidding --- the only thing going for the Doodad right now is the sheer size & weight of the single block. I wouldn't want to be the "tourist who broke the Doodad's back" though.....

This page gets lots less traffic than Whitney, but I think it is very cool. Photos are fantastic and must have been somewhat difficult to get.

No doubt, this is one of the most amazing features in the Sierra. Especially when seen up close and personal!

Hi Scott,

A SNAFU caused me to accidentally add this page to the Oregon County Highpoints. It should have been Red Mountain (ID 2277) that was added. Please help by removing Da Doodad from that group. Thanks.

By the way, nice page. Cool name for a rock feature. I've been contemplating calling something I got a first ascent on "Peduncle Pinnacle." It's this thing.

Some posts here are just plain hilarious. This is one.

I do know one thing: I'll never climb it, since I'm not into technical climbing.

Great post, though!
