Voted 10/10 | I agree that this page more than deserves a place on summit post. With a bit more info and pictures I will happily give it four stars. I had always heard and seen that the second highest peak in the Andes was Ojos del Salado and that at 6872 the third highest mountain with the most credible meaurement was Bonete, and that Pissis was accurately measured around 6778m. I'm not disputing you just letting you know what i've read and seen. Obviously with you living in Argentina you have access to info. that I don't... anyways thanks for your submission and any info. you have on Bonete would be greatly appreciated. | |

Voted 10/10 | Just FYI: Ricardo is correct that Pissis is now accepted as the 2nd highest peak in South America. All recent sources I know (Climbers Guide to the Andes, Climbers and Hikers Guide to the Worlds Mountains, Lonely Planet, and South American Handbook) and IGA maps all now list Pissis as #2. Argentina has completed the survey of the area, but Chile apparently has not, and is the only place I know of that still claims Ojos del Salado as #2. | |
