Voted 10/10 | Very nice page. It brings back some fond memories. I spent a lot of time in the Bush Mountain area in conjunction with several geologic research projects. A beautiful and adventurous place to hang out for several months. I haven't been back to Bush Mountain since 1987 and seeing your page and the photos, which still make it seem just like yesterday that I was there, have stirred an urge to get back up there.
I return to the Guadalupe Mountains from time to time, mostly to lead geology trips for students from the University of Kansas. We go up the Mckittrick Canyon trail to the top of the ridge (great geology markers and guide from the park for that) and the basal portions of the western escarpment which we access from Williams Ranch. |
