Voted 10/10 | Si el Conde Russell hubiese consultado tu página no habría ido deambulando por el ibón de Estanés hasta encontrar como subir a la cima (tampoco tenía la carretera a Lizara claro). Te he puesto una foto muy maja de la cara sur que creo puedes usar para encabezar el monte (si no tienes tú alguna mejor) y la ruta normal. Buen trabajo. Rafa Bartolomé | |

Voted 10/10 | Curious to see that another titled person was into climbing this time with a first ascent. I was aware of Charles VIII ordering the ascent of Mont Aiguille and King Albert being a climber- but here the Count (Earl) got a first ascent. Lofty peak between the bay of Biscay and the Vignemale. Translation a la machine Curioso para ver que otra persona titulada estaba en subir este vez con una primera subida. Estaba enterado de Charles VIII que pedía la subida de Mont Aiguille y rey Albert que era un trepador pero aquí el Conde (Earl) consiguió una primera subida. Pico alto entre el Golfo de Biscaya y el Vignemale. Mark | |

Hasn't voted | Hi, Desainme Honestly, I had not heard about the historical precedents you talk about. So, first thing to do is to thank you for the info. But Count Henry Russell, an irish aristocrat of the nineteenth century, was something else than an Earl ordered to climb a mountain by a king or whoever. He happened to discover the Pyrenees after many travels all around the world and surely saw something in this border chain, for after this discovery devoted himself to climbing in the Pyrenees and became a lover of the range in a poetic and romantic way. Amongst other climbs, some of his accomplishments in the Pyrenees were: - Pic d'Anie - Bisaurín - Gran Bachimala - Midi d'Ossau - Monte Perdido (7 climbs, including a lonely one) - Posets (3 climbs) - Pico de Eriste - Grand Vignemale (33 climbs, including a number of nights spent on the mountain - one of them in the summit) - Anayet - Picos del Infierno (first recorded climb) - Garmo Negro (first recorded climb) - Gourgs Blancs (first recorded climb) - And so on... If you want to know more about him, try reading his book "Souvenirs d'un Montagnard" (Memories of a mountaineer). Sorry but I don't know wether it's been published in the States. | |

Voted 8/10 | Aunque no haya intentado todavía esta montaña si que he estado cerca y puede que tenga alguna foto. Creo que podrías mejorar un poco la página añadiendo más fotos, libros, links y rutas en sus secciones. Claro que no has hecho más que empezarla. La verdad es que a veces es difícil conseguir más información de las montañas que no son tan altas e importantes, pero podrías intentarlo e introducirla también en la MAIN PAGE.
