I’ve lost almost all of my photos of the Gunks and the Catskill’s to flood damage years ago and can’t supply many, if any in some situations. I’ll probably put this and other pages I’m doing of the east up for adoption so than can get the attention they will need.
My photos from the 80's (when I spent time in this area) were lost in flood damage so I have little to help in those regards. For the routes, I'm compiling charts for the separate sections and will post them within a few weeks.
One Seinfeld episode they had George go cliff climbing with this guy he and Jerry thought were cool. I thought.....where the hell is there bouldering in New York, near the city??? Now I know. Great work!
I am not familiar enough with the area to do that. If you are, I would be happy to transfer the page to you or anyone who could and is more knowledgable. Send me a message if you are interested.
Technically speaking, the 'gunks are not part of the Catskills (which themselves are an eroded plateau of mostly sandstone, and are not a mtn range, per se). The Gunks are actually an extension of the Kittatinies of NJ.
