Hasn't voted | We just did this hike last week (March 10, 2009), and enjoyed it very much. GREAT views of Telescope Peak when you get up past the 8000-ft. mark. There were some patches of snow, but they were mostly pretty small and far apart. However, in the switchbacks near the summit, patches of snow closer to the north-facing slope did have us guessing where the main trail was a couple times, but it wasn't too hard to use the main ridge as a pointer to the summit. I personally might feel a little leery about doing this hike in mid-winter if the snow pack obscures a lot of the trail. |
