Nice shots, good basic info. Any civil war history here? Cheers William

Hey, another Pinnacle. Figures there'd be more than one.

Very nice. The effective highpoint of SC.

Thanks for the vote. Yeah, the name bothers me a bit. Seems like they could have used a tad more imagination, eh?

Nice views. Particularly enjoyed the "gnarly bole of the tree"

The forests on Pinnacle (and Table Rock) are very, very nice. Almost no evergreens. The forest seems to be made up almost exclusively of oaks, poplars, hickory, elms, etc. It was nice to walk in such a forest. I did stumble across some very large tress but I didn't photograph them because I was alone and had no real reference to show how big they are. (Could have used my pack, but I've found a human in front of a big tree is more effective.) I still haven't learned how to use the timer on this new digital camera. Got to stop having fun with it and learn how it works!

Ah, Bob Smith, leading us to the Southeast...excellent job, except you need to add directions to the trailhead, and length of the route to the summit.

Thanks. The camera has been fun, and makes adding southern peaks to SummitPost a lot easier. It has slowed me down on the trail, though. I now stop to take more photos instead of pressing on.
