MoapaPkarea codes, access

Voted 10/10

The area code of the Spring Creek Assoc. is 775, NOT 702.
See page at Spring Creek

If you park at the locked gate and climb over, technically you still need to pay the $10/day fee. Though we saw almost no one up there on Labor Day weekend, security supposedly patrols, and may ask for your ID tag (printed out at the office).

On Sep 01/2007, it seemed like one of the best campsites was at the trailhead. Those sleeping in cars could park at the top hiker parking.

The outhouse is fixed and in good shape as of Sept 01/07.

We were told that if one were to pick up the key at 8AM, camp overnight after the hike, and leave early the next morn, the fee would be $10 per person. However, that interpretation probably depends on the person at the front desk.

It is imperative people close the UPPER gates on the trail -- else cows can roam into the campsite and poop. The gates were open when we were there (we closed them).

Thanks for the update. I corrected the area code number and updated the Spring Creek link. Congrat's on doing another nice Nevada mountain.
