Hasn't voted | A couple of decades ago I heard NPR do an audio story - with sound effects and everything - about people who go into the forests of the Olympic Mountains to harvest duct tape. It's a type of bark (according to the story) growing on a certain kind of bush found only in the SE region of the Olympics. It's found in any of several colors, but silver is recognized as the strongest and most valuable.
The funniest part of the story to us locals is that they produced this whole segment - 4 or 5 minutes long - without ever mentioning the Duckabush Valley or Mount Duckabush. |
