In January of 1994, after a nice weekend backpacking trip on the Hemlock Falls Trail ( 30 miles East of Brasstown Bald ), we decided to drive up and see if the roads were open. They were, and the resulting photographs were impressive. I have posted a few of them, in the hopes of giving everyone a winter perspective. The high temperature on that Sunday afternoon was in the teens and Brrrrrr.... was it Cold! | |

Voted 10/10 | Are you sure? I havn't been there but I did measure the distance to the Bank of America building at 1023 feet high and 82.6 miles from the bald. The Northeast edge of town is about 70 miles distant. I would think it would take a cold winter's day to check | |

Hasn't voted | You can't see distances that far in the East. You just can't. Only in the West can you see that far, on a good day. It is just the way that visibility works in the East. If you want to see Atlanta from above, you should visit Stone Mountain. | |
