Good summit views- Just wondered if you saw any pines, spruces or firs as you ascended higher. I am currently growing a Parrotia Persica ( Persian witchhazel) in my yard. This is a tree sized witchhazel (Hamamelidacae)

Thank you for your vote. I did not really get to experience the forests. Unlike Colorado, where the pine forest goes up to 11500 ft, the forests here ended at about 7500 ft, just where we started hiking. During the 8 days that we were in the mountains, we never went below 12300 ft.

Hmm, I wonder what the tree you're growing looks like.

Another amazing page! Keep them coming! This appears to be a beautiful mountain range and a place I'd be interested in climbing! Are there a lot of climbers in the area and is it hard to travel there?

Thank you for all your votes and interest. Many people climb in this area but they usually do the highest peak of the massif: "Alam Kooh" or its nearby peaks. The lower peaks or those farther away from Alam Kooh get very light traffic. Travelling to Iran and to this area is actually very easy. The tour company that I mentioned in the main page (or one of the many others found on internet) should be able to do all your paper work. I will be glad to provide you with any detailed info if you are interested.

Thanks, I only have two more peaks to add. It may be a while before I do them. I did not get to climb Chaloon. That is a major peak that is not on Summitpost.
