Excellent page. This is one of the reasons I like summitpost - discover peaks big and small I have not heard of before (even though we live in Portland).

Thanks Radek, I appreciate the vote and the compliment. We are sure lucky to live in such a great area. I've discovered a lot of good stuff on SP, too.

Best regards,

Hmm, I smell a Tomlike and Chinidere combination day coming up for me this winter! Nice page.

Thanks for the vote, Brian.

This area is pretty brutal in the winter - you will love it!

I've got a pic from a plane in the winter somewhere - I'll post it when I find it.

Great page and recommendation for a day hike! Thanks so much for putting this page up on SP. We hiked it on Sunday, Oct. 24th and really enjoyed it. There was a little snow on the ground at the trailhead and probably a couple of feet on the summit. It might be helpful for us "out of towners" if you let people know that there is no kiosk at the trailhead to buy those day use passes. We had to write a sympathy note in case a ranger came by... :^) I'll post some pics when I get them developed. Thanks again!

Thanks for the compliment and I'm glad you had a good time!

Sorry about the trail park situation we have to deal with - I don't know anyone who likes it but for now we must endure. I'll take your advice, though, and edit the page as you suggested.

How was the road leading in on the 24th? any snow?

Looking forward to seeing your pics.

Best regards,

Hi Don,

There was just a dusting of snow on the road when we were on it -- none really to speak of. I've posted a few pictures and you can see there was quite a difference between snow at the summit and snow (or lack thereof) at the trailhead.

Thanks again,

Carolyn
