Very well done! Still one more Lookout for us to consume.

Have a nice weekend!

Ok, not a rugged, stark alpine peak like many are after. But these kind of places exude a peacefulness sometimes missing in the high energy of, say, the Gore Range. Great page, thanks for introducing it. I'll for sure check it out if I'm down that way.

Yes, not a challenging summit, but the views make it worth while. I really like the White Mountain Wilderness and it is the closest high mountain wilderness to Texas.

Good work, but you got to fix the longitude...you gave it an Eastern longitude. Another great page by ATTM!!!

Thanks. Did you make it up Mt. Mitchell?

Yeah, eventually. We got pretty disoriented early on, as my route finding was not at its finest and I never really could follow the Crab-Eyes trail, but from somewhere that I now think is near Twin Rocks I saw it and eventually made my way over there.

My father-in-law was in this area to hunt mule deer just before the cancer laid him low.

He talked about it a lot toward the end. Kept commenting on how nice the local people had been to him.
