Voted 10/10 | Very nice, mrh (what is your first name?). I've been over Polaris Pass so might have some photos to share. I've wanted to go back to the Wallowas (haven't been there since 1998). It looks like October is a great time for colors (if you can still get up that high). | |

Hasn't voted | First name is Mike, whats yours? Yes, the Wallowas are very nice in October if a good stretch of weather is to be had. The middle of September the whole range was caked in snow and I thought another year had passed without a Wallowa hike. But things got nice and most of the snow melted and I did a quick and spontaneous trip. Seems those are often the best ones. It was the best hike in years for me. Hope to do it again. Hasn't voted | Yes, its a bit of an obscure mountain and I'm not sure why. Maybe because its not in the top 10 height-wise for the Wallowas or maybe because modern maps seem to have dropped the name. But I first saw it 7 years ago from the top of Aneroid and have wanted to climb it since. Glad I finally got to, but I need to go back and spend some time since darkness chased me off as soon as I got on top. Thanks for the vote. mrh | |
