Looking very good. I will look fro the routes in the future. I know nothing about the climbing in OK except what is on the SP, and assume few others do also, so the info is valuable.

Thanks for your kind words! If I ever find myself in the northeast we'll have to get together and hit the peaks out your way.

Great time climbing Twin Rocks and Pt. 2067 to the north of Twin Rocks but I didn't make it over to Charon's Garden Mountain. Maybe next time.

I did find out that Charons is some Greek mythological character who is the ferryman who takes the dead over the river Styx. Thus, the reason for Styx canyon between Granite and Charons Garden Mountain. The place was named Charon's Garden because it is dry and arid like the place where the ferryman carried people over the river styx. You might be able to find more information about this Greek character by doing some internet searches. Next time we are out in the Charons, you should join us.

Nice work. This part of Oklahoma provides some really striking panoramas. I'll make sure to see this area when I finally drive out to visit the West.

Nice work! I had no idea OK had mountains and you've done a a great job here. Interesting: the apparent granite terrain looks exactly like the San Diego mountains.

Where are the San Diego Mountains? Near San Diego?

I should have been more specific - Yes, the San Diego mountains I referred to are those in San Diego county, CA. Take a look at any pages for peaks in the area and you will see the similarities. (Unfortunately, quite toasted due to terrible fires last Oct.) Also, most of S. Cal has similar geology so there's a lot of that eroded, old granite around.

Looks like the set of one of those old cowboy films

and a place familiar to Orpheus and Eurydice.

Very nice. I stumbled upon this and have revised my opinion of Oklahoma. Interesting stuff, with bison.
