Forgive me for taking over two years to replay to this, but a traverse from Shuksan would be far too difficult and dangerous for
the likes of me, anyway. The ridge is a knife-edge, vertical or
nearly so on both sides, liberally populated with gendarmes and
notches. The rock is loose thoughout the Shuksan massif, including
NT, and I imagine NT is bigger and thicker than the rest of the ridge
because the rest of the ridge is even weaker.
And Nooksack Tower's connection to the ridge is broken by a deep,
steep notch. This photo from duseks and this one from Norman illustrate the problems better than any of mine.
I'll admit the world is full of climbers better than Larry, Derek &
I ever were; maybe someone's done that traverse. The route we did
was perhaps the most dangerous of our careers. A traverse would be
several lavels beyond that. If you do it, bring back pictures!
