Thanks Britt, but tell me how you can see that it is a beautiful mountain. It isn't and I was dumb enough at the time to forget taking photos almost alltogether. Have a nice weekend. Do you celebrate carnival? Here it is quite a big thing. Three days off, parade and all.

I'm registering this here vote on behalf of all Sunni alpinists in the world. Hope it helps, Sir Gangolf.

I'm glad you are mentoring the Sunni Alpinists. It's a shame that their Alpine Club is in dire straits and we surely have to support them.

Allah is great!

I think it would be much wiser to support the Catholic Outdoor Club, after all our lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for us!

Sounds good; I shall represent them with my vote on Gangolf's next page, which should be coming out in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1....

Nah, wait a minute. I'm putting together an area guide (120 towers, 200 massifs), a trip report, dozens of maps and omish amounts of photos. Hope I'll be done before I leave for La Palma on the 16th.

Actually this cath outdoor club stirs up bad memories. When I was young (6 - 15) I went to a catholic boy school and we had lots of these clubs - most prominent youth clubs. If you didn't attend you were a nobody. My parents took me out of my youth club after having attended the initiation - church, eternal vows (not me) and all. I guess they were scared. Anyway I would be, if I had a kid belonging to one of these clubs.

Very nice page ! It is an interesting mountain as most of this area (Durreck, Mosstock). I have not photos, but I remember the wonderful routes ascending from Koflersee (there was snow under Barenluegenscahrte in Augus 2000) and descending towards Knuttenalm. Only two hikers I met in a sunny day of August; that's wonderful and iuncredible !

Bravo

I'm very glad that you created this page! This summit was on my list of wishes two times, but I never made it. Actually, the second time we went on Lenkstein, which is even higher. I have already updated links on my Rieserferner Group page. Cheers!

This was one of those "accidental" summits. We had planned the tour around Stufennock but arrived at Koflersee around 10 in the morning. So we extended the tour to go through Bärenluegscharte to Knuttenalm. Once in the pass we saw that only a few meters were missing and so trudged on. I wonder what I did with my camera back then. There is not a single picture of the summit area, not even from the pass. No picture from Hochgall, none from Fleischbachkees. I guess I'll have to return some time ;-)

Thanks!

I like your attention to details when you climb mountains (flowers, insects...)
