Like the page. I wish I knew about the rock when I was Tucson, Az in early March. How far is the mountain from Mt. Wrightson? Take care and I look forward to many more of your pages. Welcome to Summitpost!

Thanks for the kind words. It's about 26 miles line-of-sight to Wrightson. An ambitious hiker could plan to hike Wrightson, drive down to Pena Blanca in time to take to climb the rock, then camp by the lake.

Nice page and a good looking rock. Any guidebooks list this formation?

No guide books that I have seen. It's just _there_. I'd love to know more about the geology, but haven't found anything. If I do, I'll update the page.

Nice work on this one - I'm definitely going to check it out on my next day off! Only other thing I'd do would be to add it to the group "Tucson area summits"

Good climbing to you.

Scratch that - I see it's not that close to Tucson!

What the heck--I added it anyway. It's a straight shot down I-19, so if Wrightson qualifies, then the Rock does, too.
