This is another of those Idaho peaks that get very little notice yet I've looked at many times as I've sped past Burley on I-84. Yep, it's on my tick list too as I chase after Idaho prominence peaks. I've added a map and the only pic I have of the peak.

Thanks for the vote and the map, Dean. This is nice mountain. I don't believe I have been to a spot that has seemed so lofty. Great views, even of the Pioneers, Lost Rivers, and Lemhis.

Another nice one BDog, I too have noticed this while speeding past Burley. Interesting article by Tom as well, didnt realize there are 27 ranges south of the Snake River, impressive.....But, how do we get to the top? You forgot to mention that tiny detail.

The road to the Pomerelle ski area continues past and goes to the summit. In studying the map, (click on it to make it super size) you could probably just park at the ski area and walk up or when the snow is gone, who knows, you might be able to drive to the top. I can imagine this would provide stellar views of Burley and the surrounding area and I hope to do this one soon, while there is still snow up there.

Thanks for the votes there. I added a route desciption section which makes this complex route easier to navigate. :-)

Wow. That peak looks really huge! It seems to totally dominate the local skyline.
