
Hasn't voted | Named by Alpine Club of Canada in 1907. Edmund Whymper named The President in honor of the CPR's president, Thomas Shaughnessy and The Vice President in honor of its vice-president, David McNicoll.
Yeah, most of the mountains in the Canadian Rockies are somewhat named aristocratically (i.e., McKinley vs Denali). We have kept a few native names, like Wapta, etc. Wish we would have kept more.
Some of the glaciers are receding before our eyes Sean. At times you need to use a recent trip report or be faced with a route that no longer exists.
