Nice peak to view the Langtang area and home to a vanished 26,000er. Quite a paper on this published by Elsevier! Nowadays in the US this would have been a milk carton mountain!
Thank´s for your vote. Yes, quite a paper. I guess I´ve chosen the wrong side as I´m now in a molecular biology lab. Doing a month of field research in the Langtang definetly sound like a lot of more fun...
The slope failure discussion you added to Tsergo Ri is similar (although on a much grander scale no doubt) to the Turtle Mountain page I added. The Frank Slide as they called it actually killed quite a few folks as they were mining this mountain at the time. There was even some specuation that the mining might have helped caused the slide, but modern study has ruled that out. Thanks you your kind comments CJ.
Thanks for your vote and comment rbi. As regards the interactive map I don´thave a clue. When I view it and click on the respective peaks everything seems to be fine and no pop-ups appear. Probably a browser problem ( I´m using Mozialla)?
