Voted 10/10 | In winter, most of the avalanche slopes can be avoided, by takling the ridge directly, instead of following the old road.
In winter, I suggest heading straight for Pt. 12214, up and over to the main ridge line, and then up the ridge to the summit. Under most conditions, there won't be any avalanche slopes.
After a big snowsorm, and during unusual loading conditions, the open slope just above Hoosier Pass might slide. Another potential slide is between 12,200-12,400 feet, but most of the rest of the ridgeline should be a safe line throughout most of the winter and spring. |
