Nice page. I like how the mountain is so green with vegetation.

Thank´s for your vote. The mountain is so green because it is made up of aptychic limestone,a variant of rock which seems to be perfect ground for the groth of grass and rare flowers like Edelweiss. Will add that information to the page tomorrow. Thank´s again!

Perfect photos Christoph. Very nice that finally anothe Algäu Alps mountain makes it to SP. Almost all are missing. You messed up your html by closing your links with instead of . Depending on the browser you get curious results :-)

Beautiful, very complete page! Seeing pictures from Allgaeu before, I was allways asking myself if it's real that all that grass covers almost vertical walls. But it's true. I saw something similar also in Julian Alps, where even hard climbs were done over such a wall (there was a funny description - 'we were pulling up holding grass...').

Thank´s for your vote Vid. I have been for a few days to the Julians last summer and in retrospect think that the area around Mangart looks quite like the Allgaeu, only a little drier.
