Quite a good page. Some additional information in the overview section would be nice though, e.g. when was the first ascent, geographical details and the like.

Don“t they call it Aragats Lerr in Armenia? 4 stars as a "vorschuss"

Nice page!

I wish I could've gone there, when in the area in 2001.

Hi Peter,

I see that you have assigned the Aragats into the Caucasus. You might want to reconsider that classification. Both geologically and geographically, the Caucasus is divided in a higher- and a lesser Caucasus, of which the higher Caucasus is commonly referred to as "the Caucasus". The Aragats is in fact in none of these ranges. Though on a plateau, it is in fact a single standing mountain, just as other volcanoes in the region, like the Ararat. Nevertheless, your page is excellent.

See what you do with it.

Hi Peter,

I revised my perspective on the location of the Aragats. My great and thrustworthy atlas says the Aragats is actually at the limbs of the Lower Caucasus, so maybe you were right after all.

All the best.

Du hast recht, Peter.

It is strange after all. 30 Years ago nobody would have argued that Armenia was Asia. Nowadays It seems more logic to assign it to Europe, at least that is what I think. Perhaps its a new form of territorial expansian. I propose we also confiscate the Himalayas, that would certainly add some interesting mountains to the European continent, haha.

good climbing luck and fun in 2006.

Nice page. Looks like a beautiful place. Can you provide a link/phone number/way to contact the adventure company you mention in the Conditions section though?
