Thanks for the vote, Dave! Took longer than I thought to put this together, but this should provide some beta for those looking for a good half day excursion in the area.

Thanks for the vote, Brian! This would be a great, infrequently visited place to take that special someone on a nice day. ;)

Great page and I really like the info about the water situation. An interesting book that covers the history of how LA got the Owens Valley water is covered in a book called "Cadillac Desert."

Thanks for the vote & compliment, Dean. I added a little recommendation for the book (I haven't read it, but am interested now).

been by here a dozen times, used to live in incline village, nice addition, I have a lot of cool shots of mono lake stashed away somewhere, just drove through here again this past March...will look for Crater Mt. next time...don't know if I need the scree slog, usually heading south looking for good rock...cheers

Nice post!

Man, that looks like a very dry area! Are there any good forests and water sources on (or around) that peak?

Those unique shaped peaks are my favorite, this one looks like a blast to climb, thanks for posting!
