Thanks, Nelson. Mont Blanc is truly spectacular. I'm resigned to having to go back.

Those are perfect pictures Fabio! They could be right out of a guidebook about the Mont Blanc Group.

Thanks, Ganglof. I'm flattered, but it would take one some serious effort to shoot poor pictures in that beautiful scenery.

That's what I usually say myself. On the other hand everyone has his/her own style. Vid's or Mathias' pictures are very different from mine though we often shoot in the same surroundings.

Maybe my comment is caused by the fact that I only know MBG from guidebooks. Still - with all the beautiful pictures Antonio or Besucher01 have shot yours are much more authentic. Even the shot of Mere de Glace tells a story - the party of climbers among the crevaces is just what alpine climbing is all about. Also the shot of the final ridge with those climbers preparing for differant ascents or descents - it just looks real. Nobody poses all are busy with their climbs.

Well - I like those shots! MAybe because these climbs are not in my league.

Good human interest in your pix. Definitely should be in the Hundred Best Climbs around Mt. Blanc by Rébuffat

In the high res version of the picture of the ridge one can spot six climbers. There were three in our party and at least another six behind us. It's certainly a popular route and quite fun, but there's so much in the area that I'm not at all upset by Rèbuffat's decision not to include it in the top 100. It was my first climbing expedition to the area--I took a six-day course with the Courmayeur guides--but I'm definitely hooked.
