Thanks for your vote MG! I had often heard about the rotten rock in the range and had only climbed White Cap before this one. White Cap's good rock sure was misleading lol.

Nice! Well written, too.

(Probably, what you described as an inland sea "thousands" of years ago, was actually "millions" of years ago.... FWIW)

Very nice page Sean. What kind of rock do we have here? It looks volcanic - at least from some of the picts. But the sea critters indicate limestone. Both would explain the rottenness.

How'd you decide on this one?

Good question Brendon....I suppose I was looking for something not to technical but obviously I failed. Anywho, its a fun climb with awesome views of the North Face of Borah. Just to bad it was so damn smoky on saturday none of my long distance photos came out.

Thanks for the vote!

If you think the rock on Horseshoe is rotten, you need to come and check out the Oregon and Washington volcanoes. Now those have truly rotten rock. Awful stuff and best done when there is snow on them. Nice page Sean. I enjoyed my recent foray into your area to do Hyndman and Peak 10337 (south of Saviers) Beautiful area.

Love your pages Sean. Another nice Idaho one, even if it is a big rubble pile. : )
