Hasn't voted | Weather sure is weird in this part of the Rockies!--last week I was cloudbursted out of both Waterton and Glacier; further north, your pictures make it look "clear with smoke;" returned to Missoula to climb in the Bitterroots, but couldn't due to fire closures! Haha...I guess the joke's on us! Nice page! | |

Hasn't voted | It has been a rough summer Saint. I have heard nothing but bitching about routes. 35% of that is standard negative people. But this year, it has been 100%. We just had a huge fire, but it has rained for two days straight and I guess it is going to rain all week. So that should take care of that. Cheers. | |

Voted 10/10 | Another good one, Dow. 5000+ feet sure is a lot and takes its time. I have had similar experiences with otherwise excellent guidebooks where one or two routes were just too far off. I assume that the writers don't do all the routes themselves and rely on others (who in your case must have been incredibly fast. Cheers Gangolf | |

Hasn't voted | Thanks Corax. Your photo of the Mitre was first class. One of the best of the year at SP. Curious as to your feedback and advice, but I typically only add 8-10 photos per mountain page. Always confused when I see some folks add 40+ shots, many repetitive. Seems to cloud up the route page particularly. I also noticed that if one uses the larger photo format, it can screw up the pages for simple click and print, which most climbers are trying to do, from a library, Internet cafe, etc. Via Josh's standard format, a climber can print an enlargement of any thumbnail he/she thought relevant. In this case, I used the best route photo (marked it up as well) as the main photo. Then attached the other route photos (4) to the route page and any other relevant photos (3) to the main page. All 8 photos are in use, no repetition. I quit submitting any high end photos. That good Sunwapta photo from Tangle Ridge got published (so I should not have submitted it here), yet knocked down on SP along with any of my good photos (shows up in a quantity vote search). Same crew sharing their animosity at each other over and over. Josh and company need to fix it eventually to where 2 voters can't control the photo world at SP. It would probably make most contributors feel a little less violated. Obviously I am here to add route info myself. Cheers! | |

Voted 10/10 | Thanks for the nice words about the Mitre photo. I just wish my scanner could work a bit better. They don't get sharp. I agree to 100% about having too many photos showing the same thing and also about some pages with way too many large-size photos. I really realized this problem when abroad at slow connections. I couldn't resist doing this on one of my pages though. The reason I raised the topic was because some of your pages looks a bit "empty", but that's preferable to a lot of repetitions. I further agree about what you say about the voting. I laugh about it. I know if a photo is good or not and that is enough. Of course it's nice when the members show appreciation, but I think the voting issue is much more important on the mountain pages. | |
