Voted 10/10 | Very good and useful addition, Gangolf! It's great to read it from someone, who really climbed the mountain. In various books the crunchy nature of rocks is not so stressed. Consider putting in the title also Oestliche Latemarspitze. I'd certainly do so! I heard for that name, but never for Schenon. | |

Hasn't voted | Thanks Vid! I'll try to put up the German name too. But maybe it's too long. Anyway I didn't use it since there really is quite some confusion: Schenon = Östl. Latemarspitze Cornon = Latemarspitze Torre Christomannos = Östl. Latemarturm Cimon di Latemar = Westl. Latemarspitze / Diamandidturm In Italian it is not much better, especially the Campanili di Latemar but at least there seem to be unique names. As for the climb itself - I would consider it rather easy - you don't need your hands if you're good at keeping equilibrium. But the ground you walk on sure makes your heart beat faster. | |

Hasn't voted | Thanks! No we didn't make it to the top. We had been discussing if we should right before the "accident". My girlfriend had just decided to stay and wait for me when I made this move which made me bang that knee. In hindsight I probably could have gone on but I actually was quite relieved to have an excuse. A week before I had had an accident in very similar conditions when I slipped and fell down 30 feet into a steep gully. It's no fun to go down head over heels, roll over several times and can't do anything to stop. | |
