Hi

Thanks for the vote. That Annapurna book was the first mountaineering book I ever read, give to me as a birthday present when I was 23 or so! I still have it, must have a browse to see if I can find any mention of Tent Peak

Another good one! The coordinates are still missing. You could look up your Lobuche East Page and chose the "interactive map" link to the left. Perhaps you can make out Tharpu Chuli from space. If you can just click it and copy the coordinates into the respective fields.

Messed things up, of course. Have a look at the Annapurna / Machapuchare Region. If I guessed right Tharpu Chuli might be at the centre of the map. But I'm only guessing ...

Thanks for the votes for my pages and your idea about the interactive map. When I did the Lobuche East page yesterday the map thing came on automatically and I thought "that's clever". But nothing happened when I did the Tharpu Chuli page. Anyway, I've had a look at the area concerned and can clearly see Annapurna 1 and the Glacier you cross to head directly towards TC. However picking up the EXACT spot of TC is difficult and I dont want to guess cos it would be my luck that some poor sod sets his GPS by whatever coordinates I come up with and falls down one of the gullys!!

For Lobuche the map came up because Mathias Zehring suggested the coordinates and I maintained them :-)

That's how elves are supposed to work ....

Welcome back, and nice work on this page. You have a strong opinion about the two lodges at base camp! Any more you want to say? Don't pull any punches. (Just joking - appreciate your no doubt accurate sentiments. :-} )

One comment: I find it easier to read if some of the larger paragraphs are broken up with some white space in between.

Thanks for the Tharpu Chuli vote and comments Nelson. You're right about my MBC lodges comments, I've been up there a few times now and the lodges are real dung heaps cos the owners don't care and they have a captive audience as there's nowhere else to go. There's no running water, overcrowding, poor hygeine/cooking, ........ aarrgghhh

I've just addd some white space to the Lobuche and TC pages as you suggested. Magic, looking much better now.

I didn't know you were an elf!?

No, not an elf, just have trouble with my bifocals and SP's text on large paragraphs! Much easier to read now, thanks.

Good page. I like the sanactuary photo showing the vegetation and the river. Seems most people are too busy pointing the camera at those beutiful peaks to remember to photograph the rest of the scenery.
