It is surprisingly easy to get off route and onto class 4 terrain on the descent.

How often have I thought this ...

Yes, seems to be a recurring theme on my trips too. :-)

Nope. The summit area is mostly huge boulders, so it would take a bit of effort to build one. :-)

Kind of an awful name, but a nice enough looking peak. Great and useful pics.

Nice job Matthew! After living in Arcata for about a year, I learned to appreciate the Trinity Alps. Thanks for adding this one.

I saw the Trinities from Shasta and thought the area appeared beautiful and interesting and would not mind visiting it one day. My wife has done some through-hiking in the area so there might come a day when we would return. This is a nice mountain and the page and photos represent it wonderfully.

Thank you. I went there a few years ago with my parents, and we just hiked in for a couple of hours. I always meant to go back to explore more of the backcountry, but never got around to it until last year. I was very impressed with what I saw--I'll need to make sure I get back there again next summer.

I'd have to say it looks more like Recess Peak than a wedding cake

poserbobTechnical Routes?

I'm sure there are plenty, but anyone have any beta on technical routes on this peak? In general, it is surprising to me that Summitpost Trinity Alps pages are strictly focused on walk-ups and there is no info on the amazing alpine rock/mountaineering potential here.
