Well, it is not the Everest, but it is definitely there!! Funny summit. Good idea to make a short of ´group´ of all these ´problems´. In fact I think that this ´grouping´ could be a nice solution for those kind of areas/mountains/sportclimbing places which are not really a ´very interesting´ thing to do, but, somehow they could have their place at SP. Thanks for adding.

I remember we talked about this tower when I posted this picture. I see that "your" sandstone is much smoother than ours which is probably due to the amount of rain we are getting here. Usually you'll see structures like this on the "stems" of the mushrooms.

Thanks for the vote. The Sandstone isn't always smoother; it depends on the formation. Check out the one below.

Now that we've done the Mexican Hat, I gotta say - they really look VERY similar :)

Love these desert oddities - nice addition!

Scott- Great page- what a formation! Are you heel-hooking to get up this thing?-amazing. Definitely seems like a challenging and great rock problem. Love to see more technical towers and rock spires on SP.

Thats really cool man. Im really wondering how you got up on top of that thing. it would be fitting if you did some fancy lariat work on this vaquerro.

No lassos used. Just standard climbing equip. If there were something to lasso, it would certainly be easier.

Looks like a cool little tower. I'm guessing the "A6" is a joke??

Yes. Perhaps not a very funny one.

I've seen Mexican Hat. It all looks GOOD to me from the parking lot, but instead of a Pabst, I prefer a cold Coors.
