Voted 10/10 | Bacon & Legs (5.9) Did that on Saturday (with a "variation" on P1). All new HW. P1 as per topo is very runout & not quite the "easy slabs" I was expecting (not bad just a stiff cup of joe right off the ground). Ended up traversing right (to bushes), then back left to reach the belay ledge in right-facing dihedral. P2 has a nice stretch up to first bolt and a total of 3 bolts (stiff 5.8...more like .9 which is what 1 of the 2 topos lists). P3 is well bolted and comparable in difficulty to P2. We rapped from there. Fun route. | |

Voted 10/10 | Hi Sean, no - it's one of those leave Friday after work & get to Stanley 3am Saturday. It was drizzling Sat. am so we went for this thing at lunchtime (short but fun..tad runout too). Then we drove to Finger TH with plan to do that early Sunday before driving home....well, got word from 2 guys coming down that evening that there's a party of 6 and possibly a party of 2 bivying closer to route..after some debate figured we could not do the route quick & so went home :( | |

Hasn't voted | Well - at least you were able to get on something. The drizzle is uncommon for this time of year and the weather has cooled, but it's supposed to be 83 and sunny again in Stanley this weekend. That's a good amount of people on the Finger. I think Drizzlepuss offers a parallel route next to the Open Book that meets up near pitch 3 if you ever want to skirt people. Take care | |

Voted 10/10 | Some am clouds produced some sprinkles but the skies looked dark till about 10 or 11am. Thank you very much for the Drizzlepuss suggestion...should've thought ahead & brough some beta. That book route is more crowded than the handful of NA classics that we've seen!!! thanks for all the great sawtooths info on sp Sean! | |
