djilkGreat climb, but...

Voted 9/10

Just a warning to hikers who are not climbers - the final cone (starting at 13,200') is difficult. Although it does not exceed class 2+ or 3, it is very steep, and the entire route is a choice between steep scree on short trail sections vs. loose talus blocks. I almost knocked a 300-lb boulder free. The remote location makes all this even more disconcerting. Don't make this your first attempt at a loose-rock summit.

Good advice djilk. This is typical of the San Juans, so having a member re-emphasize the climbing conditions is great. Thanks!
