- The parking area on Marshall Pass Road is not quite at the pass, it is shy of it to the east. You can follow a 4WD road just off the parking area (on the north side) to the crest of the ridge.
- While in the trees, there is a barbwire fence indicating private property to the west, which appears to follow the crest of the Divide almost to treeline. Keeping this in sight (on your left) makes routefinding very easy.
- The ridge is not scrambling all the way. Much of it is grassy walking; some of it is solid talus. There are really just a couple of scrambling sections.
- Both the quartz intrusion and the scrambling section below it seem easiest taken on the south (right) side.
- The summit is still several hundred vertical feet beyond the quartz intrusion. Don't think you're almost there.
- We went down the south face and although the rock is stable relative to rock slides, it is quite loose relative to ankle twists and the route down is steep and tiring. The bottoms below seem to be best taken to the east, staying well above the creek/marsh area.
Thanks a bunch! It's been a long, long time since I climbed this mountain, and it's great to have a clear update to supplement my foggy memory! Additions added!
