Voted 5/10 | A page on the entire JMT would be a big deal, but as this is categorized as a route to Mt Whitney, perhaps it could at least focus on the access points to the trail that work best for climbing Whitney over the length of a 'typical' (like e.g. 3-6 days) backpacking trip, for example. I can see that was attempted, but I don't think the information is presented in a way that one could relate to without already being a local, and knowing it all anyway. It would be good if mileages and elevation gains for routes to/from various access points were given so that one could get a clearer idea of the possibilities. Are there other access points besides Crabtree Meadows and the Whitney Portal, or not? Where are the places people typically camp on this route? How is water availability? I probably learned more from the SEKI and Sierra Nevada pages about this route than from this page. |
