I've used the ridge on the South (right) side of Pole Coloir on the way up a couple times when the snow was considerably less abundant than on your trip. (That's a minor ridge going up from the uppercase "S" on your map snapshot)

There is a short grassy slope leading up to the ridge just underneath the junction with a major tributary gully on the South side (this huge side coloir is cliffed out in a fairly spectacular way). Once you reach the ridge, you face a decayed, wooded cliffband which is easily crossed on the right, then just follow the wide ridge up.
